Activities & Adventure in Bali

Most travelers visit all the places that Bali is most famous for during their holiday: ancient temples, lush green rice fields, Monkey Forests, local markets, cozy shopping streets and of course the famous beaches of the island.

But sometimes you just need to spice things up with some adventurous activities! Enjoy amazing scenery while having fun during one of these favorites:

  1. Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking

  2. Rafting the Telaga Waja river

  3. Downhil Mountainbike trip in East Bali

  4. ATV tour

After the Batur Sunrise Trekking

1. Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking

The hike starts at 4AM from the base camp. There you will meet your experienced private local guide who will make sure you'll get to the top of the mountain.

It'll be very dark so you will get a flashlight to light the way. If you have a head-flashlight it's good to bring this along.

The 2-hour hike up starts pretty flat but get steeper and rockier as you get higher. Once you're on the top, you can relax, take a seat and wait for the sun to rise. Enjoy the beautiful spectacle. Once it's light you will have a spectacular view on Lake Batur, Mount Agung and Mount Abang. You will also see the Batur crater from up close.

Be aware that this is not an easy trekking. Especially the way back down can be very hard on the knees so if you have weak knees or recently had a knee-injury, I would not recommend this trekking.

What to bring for a Batur Sunrise hike (tips)

  • Use solid shoes: hiking shoes or good sneakers (no open toes)

  • Bring a sweater/jacket as it can be pretty cold on the top

  • Bring an extra shirt to change at the top

Your guide will carry water, snacks and extra batteries for flashlights.

Tip: after the trekking drive down to Lake Batur and visit the natural hot springs to give your muscles and body a well deserved rest.

2. Rafting the Telaga Waja river

Experience the thrill of rafting down the beautiful Telaga Waja River, surrounded by stunning nature and waterfalls. The expert guides will ensure that you have a safe and fun-filled experience.

Don’t miss out on this exciting activity during your Bali trip!

Although the Ayung river is better known for rafting in Bali, I can recommend to try rafting the Telaga Waja river as it runs through beautiful nature and you can enjoy the amazing scenery.

Including in the price is:

  • Welcome drink

  • Equipment: paddle, helmet, safety vest

  • Experienced guide for 4 persons per raft

  • Towel

  • Shower facilities

  • Lunch

What to bring for a rafting adventure in Bali

  • Clothes that may get wet (it's best to use a shirt + shorts over your swimwear)

  • Water shoes or sandals if you have them (can be rented there)

3. Downhill Mountainbike trip in East Bali

Experience the ultimate adventure with our special Mountain Bike Tour! This off the beaten track activity takes you on a thrilling 2.5 hour downhill cycling trip from the slopes of Mount Agung through the stunning rice fields and villages in East Bali.

With a personal guide by your side, you’ll have the chance to explore the natural beauty of Bali in a unique way. This adventure activity is perfect for those looking to explore Bali’s hidden gems away from the crowded tourist spots.

This is a unique secret trip following small trails only known by locals.

4. ATV Tour

Drive through the lush and scenic rice fields in Bali on an ATV! No experience necessary, just bring your sense of adventure and a willingness to have fun.

The professional guide will accompany you every step of the way to ensure your safety and enjoyment. Get ready to explore Bali in a whole new way.
